Terms of use

Version 2026-09-30. Last updated 2026-09-26. These terms cover the early release of Mapish to invited testers and are being reviewed by our lawyer. If they change in a way that matters, the app will ask you to agree again before you carry on.

Agreeing to these terms

By using the Mapish app, the business console or this website you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. You can browse the map without an account. Reporting prices, logging fill-ups, setting alerts and business features need one.

What Mapish shows

Mapish shows fuel stations, fuel prices, businesses and their specials from community reports, business owners and public data. Prices and specials may be wrong, out of date or unavailable. They are a guide only; confirm at the station or shop. Savings figures are estimates worked out from nearby prices, not a promise. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be excluded.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens on your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can delete your account in the app at any time; the privacy policy explains what that removes.

What you add

• Report only prices and details you have seen yourself, honestly and by hand.
• Photos should show price boards or products. Don’t include people’s faces, number plates or anything unlawful or offensive.
• You keep ownership of what you add. You let us store, show and use the price information in your reports to run Mapish, including after you delete your account (by then it is no longer linked to you).
• We may hide, correct or remove anything added to Mapish.

Fair use

No spam, false prices, scraping or bulk copying of the data, getting around rate limits or security, harassment, pretending to be a business or another person, or anything that interferes with the service.

Driving safety

Don’t use the app while driving. Set your trip before you leave or let a passenger use it. Always follow the road rules.

Businesses and station owners

If you manage a business on Mapish you must be allowed to act for it. Prices and specials you publish must be accurate, current and lawful, and you are responsible for them. We may check your claim, label or remove content that is wrong or misleading, and show community prices next to yours. We never show you which individual drivers saved, visited or rated your business.

Reporting content

If something on Mapish is wrong, harmful or about you, use Report on the station, special or photo in the app, or email [email protected] with a link or description of the content and why it should be removed. We aim to reply within two working days and act sooner on anything harmful. This includes complaints under the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015.

Other services

Maps are provided by Google, and navigation opens in the maps app on your phone; their own terms apply. Links to other services are not endorsements.

Limits on our responsibility

We provide Mapish as it is, as far as the law allows. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on prices or specials shown, or for purchases, fines or vehicle damage (including filling with the wrong fuel).

Changes

We may update these terms. When a change matters, the app shows the new version and asks you to agree before you carry on.

Law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
